Wedding Bells

Hello you πŸ™‚ So lovely to see you again.

I have some excellent news…my lovely sister, Miss S, has got engaged! So, in honour of her planning the wedding I thought I’d show you all some lovely wedding stuff that makes me smile.

This indian wedding cake is amazing!

I love this shot of the lace dress.

Dresses from 1861

Dont forget flowers! I like bright ones πŸ™‚

Some great ideas for homemade wedding favours.

And of course, a gorgeous knitted shawl…I could make that, I’m sure.

Congratulations to you both!

Lots of Love,

Ele ~X~

Wednesday’s ‘What I love’

Wednesday is such an odd day…no one seems to like it very much, poor old Wednesday. So I have decided to allocate Wednesday as the day I show you pretty things that I love πŸ™‚

1. Glass knitting needles

So beautiful

Aren’t they just gorgeous, I bet they would be wonderful to knit with.

2. Pirate cake

I love pirates, I love cake…perfect!

3. Bird stamps

These are made by Prima Marketing and they are my favourite! I love the little frog too.

4. Embroidery

5. Personalised rubber stamps

I really want to get a Milo stamp! (Click the picture for the link to the Etsy shop for these!)

6. Storage jars

I need shelves…and jars…

7. Peonies

*click for link*

I just love peonies πŸ™‚

8. Milkshake

I love peanut butter and chocolate milkshake!

What are you loving today?

Lots of Love,

Circular circley things

This week’s theme is circles…so here are a few pretty circles for you πŸ™‚

Super-bright plates!

And then…

…pretty vintage plates.

Cookies are circles too.

I like this swirly circle.

And wow! This crop circle is amazing!

This spiral thing is dated from about 3200 BC! It is thought to be a symbol representing the circle of life and can be found at the Newgrange archeological site in County Meath, Ireland.

So, lots of circles for you to have a look at!

Lots of Love,

Sunday Stuff

It’s Sunday evening, the sunset is red and gold and orange, the birds are chirping and I have some lovely things to show you.

This arrived yesterday! All of them are 100% alpaca and they are sooo soft.

So this is what I’m doing with it…

Shhhush! This one is a secret...

It’s a scarf for my Mama for Mother’s day! I’m using this pattern. It’s a free one πŸ™‚

And…I wound that ball of yarn by hand from the skein. First time I’ve ever done that.

I took a close up so you can see the waviness a bit better…

Isn’t it pretty! I hope my Mama likes it…don’t tell her though!

Then I’ll be knitting a scarf for the lovely boy’s mum too.

My lovely boy has been good to me today…

And I received a book yesterday that I bought with Amazon vouchers I got from doing surveys πŸ˜‰ It’s called ‘Socks from the toe up‘ by Wendy D. Johnson.

So that’s the toe of a sock started! These will be for me as they are a bit of a practise at doing toe up socks…the next socks I make will be for Miss S when she finally gives me her foot measurements and I give her the choices of yarn to pick from!

Lots of Love,

Ele ~X~

More woolly stuff

So…you know I like knitting right?

Love you too, knitting

Thats my current project…it may not look like much now but it will eventually be a sock…and not just any sock, my first sock!

My first time knitting ‘in the round’ too…there are a lot of needles to contend with but I think I’ve got the hang of it now.

I’m also working on two secret projects…so, a lot of knitting going on…plus I’m already planning future projects. I got me some baby wool to knit some little, tiny clothes with to give to charity (one lot of pink tones and one lot of blue), I also bought some gorgeous Noro Sekku yarn in green/plum/blue…it’s beautiful and contains silk. I tried to take a photo but with no daylight it didn’t look very good, so I’ll try again tomorrow πŸ™‚

In the mean while, look at this…it’s knitted with that same type of yarn.

Pattern by Cheri McEwen

This shawl was knitted by a user called ‘Merchantofvino’…it’s so beautiful! I wish I could knit like that…maybe one day.

Lots of Love,

Ele ~X~

Look-ee what I ordered!

Isn’t that the most wonderful yarn!

I was naughty and ordered it for myself because it’s so pretty and I thought it would be great for knitting socks! (I’m still plodding on with my first ever sock but it’s plain wool so I wont get a pattern…)

It’s ‘Teksrena Rainbow, 100g, 100% wool’…just in case you’re interested πŸ™‚

I was extra naughty and ordered some other things too but I’ll leave that as a surprise and show you pictures when they arrive.

Today I am mostly loving mochimochi…no? hmm…let me show you…

*click the picture to get the pattern...for free!*

Aren’t they sweet!

Head to Mochomochi Land to check out the blog, shop, gallery and you can even get free patterns to make your own, cute mochimochi toys!

Those baby gators are way up on my list and I’m quite partial to the cute little snails and slugs too πŸ™‚

Lots of Love,

Ele ~X~
